The LEADERSHIP I: Washington County program held their First Annual kick off Reception at the YMCA Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood in Potosi, Missouri September 29, 2009. The reception opened with dinner and followed with ice breaking activities led by Daniel Winning with the YMCA TEAMWorks Department, all of which was arranged by Renée Godinez, Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the YMCA.
The reception was a huge success fulfilling the purpose of bringing the participants and Board Members together for a networking experience and to meet and greet the next generation of potential leaders. The LEADERSHIP I: Washington County program was established in June 2009 and placed on the fast tract to coordinate dynamic speakers with expertise from both near and beyond our region. The presenters were chosen because of their unique abilities to communicate the leadership traits necessary for the 2009-2010 class to become successful leaders in the community. The students involved in the LEADERSHIP I: Washington County program are county-based individuals who feel the need and passion to make a difference for the future of our children and to contribute to the long-term growth of our county.
